Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Multi-Sectoral Nutrition Strategy (KP-MSNS)

A two-day Consultative Workshop on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Multi-Sectoral Nutrition Strategy (KP-MSNS) 2025–2030 was held on February 13–14, 2026, in Abbottabad under the chairmanship of the Special Secretary, Planning & Development Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The workshop was organized to undertake the final review and seek endorsement of the revised KP-MSNS (2025–2030), following extensive consultations with relevant departments and development partners. The event brought together representatives from key sectors including Health, Agriculture, Education, Social Protection, Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH), academia, and development partners to ensure a coordinated and multisectoral approach towards improving nutrition outcomes in the province.

During the workshop, participants reviewed the revised strategy, which provides a comprehensive framework for addressing the triple burden of malnutrition through five key sectoral areas: Health, Agri-Food Systems, Education, Social Protection, and WASH, supported by cross-cutting priorities including Early Childhood Development, Social and Behaviour Change, Climate Resilience, Governance, and Accountability. Thematic group discussions were conducted to review sectoral objectives, key result areas, indicators, implementation mechanisms, and coordination arrangements. Participants provided valuable inputs to strengthen district-level convergence, institutional ownership, monitoring systems, and alignment with departmental plans and priorities. The revised KP-MSNS (2025–2030) was collectively endorsed by participating departments and development partners, marking an important milestone towards establishing a coordinated and sustainable nutrition response framework in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The finalized strategy will be submitted to the competent forum for formal approval and subsequent implementation across the province.
