Capacity for Nutrition (C4N) SUN Global Team visited KP regarding the establishment of a National Multi-sectoral Nutrition Management Information System/Dashboard
During this mission, the global team conducted a desk review, consulted with relevant stakeholders from multiple sectors at both federal and provincial levels to finalize/develop indicators for the establishment of the nutrition information dashboard. This technical assistance will play a crucial role in reviewing and finalizing the nutrition indicators required for the establishment of NMSNMIS/D .
Special Secretary P&D Department briefed the C4N team on active role of SUN Unit KP in steering and tracking implementation of the KP Multi-Sectoral Integrated Nutrition Strategy which is under revision. He informed that provincial steering committee under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary with the members of respective secretaries of the departments to lead and guide the multisectoral group in strategic planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring across the sectors.The Technical Working Groups (TWGs) have also been established under the chairmanship of respective secretaries of the department to assist steering committee in technical matters related to the multi-sectoral strategy.At present there is no Multi-Sectoral Nutrition Information System/Dashboard in the country capable of providing real time multisectoral data for policy planning, program development and monitoring & evaluation (M&E) at both Federal & Provincial Levels. So, there is dire need of establishment of Multisectoral Nutrition Dashboard at National & Provincial level in order to facilitate policy makers & planners for timely decisions. .
On the last day of the training workshop, Mr. Iqbal Khan, Coordinator SUN Unit has presented the Financial Analysis of ongoing schemes of ADP Schemes 2021-22 based on PC-1s and their relevancy with Nutrition markers and SDGs targets. Another group exercise was given to the participants to analyse the Nutrition component in the PC-1s and relate it to the nutrition markers and SDGs targets. Participants were divided into the 4 groups (Health, Education, Agriculture and Wash) and PC-1s were provided accordingly for analysis.
